1.Depth camera
Stereo depth gives you obstacle avoidance without active illumination, which matters outdoors where projected patterns wash out. Aim for under 200 g all-in — few sellers publish a weight, so check the datasheet.
2.Inertial measurement
Vision alone drifts. An IMU fused with the camera stream is what makes pose estimation usable in flight.
3.Onboard compute
Weigh the board with its heatsink and carrier — datasheet weights rarely include either, and both are mandatory in flight.
